This plant originates from Argentina (synonyms: Tillandsia dianthoidea or T. grisea). It is named after the German botanist, Alwin Berger. Unlike other Tillandsia, this species is in constant grow and very quickly can develop into an attractive clump, that’s why it is often called the “Mad Pupper”. While normally doesn’t bloom every year, the fast grow and fractal-like structures compensate for this. It is an excellent choice for “Tillandsia beginners” as it is not requiring delicate care. It needs spraying 1-2 times a week.
This air plant is available from our webshop either by itself or part of a terrarium kit.
