Tillandsia funckiana

One of the most extravagant shaped Tillandsia species, discovered in the late 19th century in Venezuela. Usually grows in clumps on cliffs in the mountains ranging 1000 to 1700 m height. Its outlook is similar to pine needles, with the soft, silver-greenish leaves forming a spiral on the plant base. A fancy plant by itself, but the group formations are a true gem for every airplant enthusiastic. Funckiana grows slowly. By getting enough light, the leaves turn vivid red before a full blooming phase. The flowers are also red and beautifully shaped. As a xeric-type plant, it likes bright, sunny places and needs misting once every 1,5-2 weeks.

You can have this plant in variously shaped and sized orbs and decoration from ourĀ webshop.
