Tillandsia pruinosa

This species is spread across the USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, West-Indian islands, Columbia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia and Brazil. The leaves make up a bizarre appearance by forming inner spaces filled with air, which can store water depending on seasonal conditions for draught periods. The leaves are dark green with plenty of trichomes (pinned structures for water and nutrient absorption). The flower leaves are tightened to each other in a vivid pink color, while the flower itself is purple. The average height of the plant is 8-10 cm, however the leaves can make up a diameter of 12 cm. It needs spraying only once in every 1-2 weeks.

This air plant is available from our webshop either by itself or part of a terrarium kit.
